About Señor Sisig (Oakland)

If anyone has redefined contemporary street food in San Francisco, it’s longtime pals Evan Kidera and Gil Payumo’s Señor Sisig. With their special twist on a Filipino happy hour dish sisig, Señor Sisig took the portability of their favorite Mexican taqueria dishes and melded the two together to reflect their diverse palette and down-home appeal.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Oakland is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Oakland follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Vegan/non vegan Crunchadilla is 💣I like The meat one with Tocino and Franks hot sauce. The meat one comes with Nacho Cheese sauce and the vegan one comes with a cheese Roux which is very tasty. The Crunchadilla is a bigger gourmet crunch wrap (ultimate stoner food). I like their ginger Calamansi as well. Only criticism: I wish it felt less like a Sports bar, it can get kind of loud and makes it hard to chat while eating in person.

I love Señor Sisig through and through. Been having their food since their food trucks and their first storefront location. Little by little as they expand, I’ve noticed that the burritos come with less meat and more greens/rice. The food tastes great but it’s sad that it feels like I’m being shorted time to time on the protein (especially on the burritos).

Really good food - nice variety for everyone- very inclusive of different dietary choices. Tasty vegan options. Loved their nachos.

Senior Sisig is always a treat for us since we aren't exactly close to one. Got to try the Oakland only Ribeye Bistek Silog Burrito and it was fire! The rest of food was definitely delicious, just since this is a special I wanted to call it out. Came on a rainy Sunday so was not busy and got our food really quick. Great location, friendly staff, great food...Will be back again!

Senor Sisig has been on my want-to-go list for a while, and I finally got the chance to try it. We ordered a Tosilog Burrito with a side of habanero salsa and a Chicken Senor Sisig Bowl. I really enjoyed their Tosilog Burrito, which came with Filipino sweet pork, adobo garlic rice, tomatoes, and a fried egg. The sweet pork had a really unique and delicious flavor.
